This photo sums up one of many happy family holidays touring the Highlands of Scotland. Glenfinnan is one of our favourite places where you can experience absolutely breath-taking views from the hill behind the visitor centre across Loch Shiel and to the mountains beyond.  

 

Our daughter, a big Harry Potter fan, loved watching the Jacobite Steam Trains crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct which was used in some of the Harry Potter films and being beside the loch which doubled as the ‘Black Lake’. Later we caught the steam train from Fort William to Mallaig and had the amazing experience of crossing the viaduct ourselves.
